The Fastest Way to Get on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’

Here’s a cool behind-the-scenes look at how Jimmy Fallon and his writing staff use Twitter hashtags to engage audiences and stir up laughs. (If you’re not sure what a hashtag is, here’s a quick explanation with examples.)

The “Late Night Hashtags” segment solicits tweets from viewers by creating hashtags (a few used so far: #worstlieevertold, #keepyourpantson, and #myfamilyisweird). The funniest and most outrageous tweets that use the designated hashtag are collected by Fallon’s staff to be read on air. As one of the writers says, viewers can become part of the show literally overnight.

Have you joined Twitter yet? The personal use of social media for B2B sales execs is something we’ll be talking about in detail with Jeff Hayzlett at the Sales 2.0 Conference on March 8. (The former CMO of Kodak is widely recognized in the business world for his successful use of social media platforms.) If you can’t register to join us at the conference in person, we’ll be live-tweeting the entire event; follow us at @Sales20Conf and track #s20c to catch all the highlights and insights!
